Albert, Phillip A.

Phillip Allen Albert, a resident of Roslindale for 50 years, died Friday, November 27th, 2009 at his home in Roslindale.  He was 76.  Phillip was born July 9, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of Philip J. and Louise M. (MacKay) Albert.  He graduated from the old Boston Trade School with the Class of 1951 and served in the National Guard from 1952 to 1976 with the rank of Staff Sergeant.  Phillip worked as a special needs bus driver for 15 years and for the Stop & Shop store in Dedham for 20 years.  He was a retired judge and officer of the Cat Fancier’s Foundation Inc., and a founding father of the Boston Taxi Industry Fund, a fund that helps send taxi drivers children to college.  Phillip is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois Jean (Cassidy) Albert; his six daughters, Laurie J. Albert of Tucson, Arizona, Bette L. Reilly of Norwood, Patricia A. Anastasia of Hyannis, Penny J. Douphinette of Auburn, Maine, Deborah F. Pantages of Attleboro, and Linda M. Evans of Plainville; his two sons, Phillip A. Albert Jr. of Norwood, and David P. Albert of Jacksonville, Florida; his sister, Elaine Vittorossio of Malden; as well as 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. he was the brother of the late Ronald Albert.  Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations to Animed Pet Hospital, Attn: Dr. Salter, 918 Providence Highway, Dedham, MA 02026 would be appreciated.

Conroy, Richard F.

Richard Francis Conroy, a 23 year resident of Norwood, died suddenly on Friday November 27, 2009 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was 70. He was born in Boston and was the son of the late John L and Marjorie A. (Richard) Conroy. Richard lived in Jamaica Plain for 22 years. He worked with the Environmental Services Department for Boston’s Childrens Hospital. He began his career there at the age of 17, retiring in 2004, with over 43 years of service to the hospital. Richard loved trains, visiting Boston and studying its history through pictures. He is survived by his sister Louise M. Annis of Norwood, his nephew Robert McAllister of Stoughton, his nieces Holly and Heather Annis both of Norwood. He is also survived by many Great nieces and nephews. Thompson, Franklin B.

Franklin Burton Thompson, a resident of Westwood since 1966, and formerly of West Quincy and Wollaston, died Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale.  He died on the day before his 81st birthday.  Frank was born November 25, 1928 in Braintree, Massachusetts, the youngest son of Frank and Eileen (MacNamara) Thompson.  He graduated from Braintree High School and worked for 40 years as a salesman for the S D Prince Company of Boston, until his retirement in 1985.  Frank was a devoted family man who enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Centers in Westwood and Walpole, and was a lifelong Red Sox fan.  He is survived by his wife, Caroline A. (Monti); his son, Frank M. Thompson of Westwood; his two daughters, Deborah E. Gallagher, and her husband James, of Northboro, and Brenda J. Cook, and her husband Brad, of Punta Gorda, Florida; and his four adored grandchildren, Kelly A. Gallagher, Sean K. Gallagher, Clay D. Cook, and Austin B. Cook.  He was the brother of the late Robert Thompson and the late Harry Thompson.  Visiting hours will be held Friday, November 27th from 10 AM to Noon at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood followed by a funeral service at noon with the Reverend Sheldon Keller of the First Baptist Church of Westwood officiating.  Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.  Donations in Frank’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, Massachusetts, 01701 would be appreciated.

Beurman, Ethel M.

Ethel Marie (Ward) Beurman, a resident of Dedham since 1960, and formerly of Dorchester, died Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 at her home in Dedham after a long illness.  She was 76.  Ethel was born in Boston on December 3, 1932, a daughter of Matthew and Mary (Albright) Ward.  She attended St. Matthew Elementary School in Boston and graduated from Cathedral High School in Boston.  Ethel worked for 20 years as an Administrative Assistant at the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office until her retirement in 1994.  She is the wife of Donald F. Beurman Sr. and the mother of Deborah M. Keegan, and her husband John, of Canton, Laura Beurman-Ellison, and her husband Evert, of Needham, Donald F. Beurman Jr., and his wife Cynthia, of Weymouth, and Christopher M. Beurman, and his wife Cheri, of North Oxford.  Ethel was the sister of George Ward and Margaret DeGraan, both of Braintree, and the grandmother of Kathleen Keegan, and Curtis, Skyla, Jordyn, and Brooke Beurman.  Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4-8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street (Route 109), Westwood.  Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 9 AM and proceed to St. Denis Church, 157 Washington St (Route 1A), Westwood at 10 o clock.  Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.

Donovan, Paul T.

Paul T. Donovan, a resident of Westwood, died on November 21 with his family by his side.  He was 86. Paul was born in Dorchester to the late James Donovan and the late Lillian (McCarthy).  He was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School.  He then went on to serve in the United States Marine Corp. during WWII and held rank of corporal.  Mr. Donovan worked for New England Telephone as a manager for several years and was former financial secretary of Local 1, New England Telephone Co.  He was an active member of the Chch of St. Denis in Westwood and also one of their alter servers.  Paul was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Hanley), and together they raised 4 children;  Jean Donovan of Westwood, Kathleen Donovan and her husband Todd Randall of Westwood, Robert Donovan of Webster, and Janet Donovan of Mansfield.  He is also survived by his brother Alfred Donovan of Weymouth.  He was the loving grandfather of Kasey and her husband Christopher Wheeler, Shauna and Allie Orlando, Edward Melito and Michaela Sawyer. Dear brother of the late James and Robert Donovan and the late Lilian Neely.   Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Wednesday at 8 AM from the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High St., Westwood followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 0′clock at the Church of St. Denis, 157 Washington St., Westwood.  Interment in New Westwood Cemetery.  Visiting hours are at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.

Ricci, Francis J.

Francis J. Ricci, affectionately known as Fran or Goomba by friends and family, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November18th at his home in Dedham, on his 62nd birthday.  Francis was born November 18, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of Alfred A. and Anna F. (Antinarelli) Ricci.  He graduated from Newton Technical High School with the Class of 1963 and joined the US Marine Corp for a two year tour of duty from 1966 to 1968.  He was honorably discharged as a corporal.  Fran worked as a chef for almost 30 years, first at the Braeburn Country Club and most recently at Tony’s Place in West Roxbury.  He was a talented handiman, and he enjoyed motorcycling.  Goomba is survived by his mother, Anna F. Ricci of Needham; his father, Alfred A. Ricci Sr., and his wife Rose, of Westwood; his sister, Anna Lanoue of Dedham; two brothers, Alfred A. Ricci Jr of Dedham, and Raymond Ricci, and his wife Sharon, of Westwood; his nieces and nephews, Robert C. Smith, Jr., Alfred III, Alicia, Scott, Nicole, Derek, Taylor, and Cassidy Ricci, and Kyle and Emma Rose; his grandnephews, Matthew, Ryan and Reese; his great grandnephew, Robert C. Smith III, his wife Lylah, and their daughterAnabelle Marie; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Visiting hours will be held Sunday, November 22nd from 3-7 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Monday at 11 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.  In lieu of flowers donations to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108 would be appreciated.

Stone, Thomas

Thomas Edward Stone, a resident of Traditions in Dedham, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at his brother’s home in Braintree after a long illness.  He was 77.  Tom was born July 27, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of Carl P., and Helen (Murray) Stone.  Tom worked for 45 years as a maintenance man for General Motors in Westwood.  He was a longtime member of the St. Denis Church bowling league.  Tom was the husband of the late Eileen Stone and the brother of the late Rose Clara Farrell.  He is survived by his twin brother William Stone of Braintree.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 7-9 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood.  Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home Friday at 8 AM and proceed to St. Denis Church, 157 Washington Street, Westwood for Tom’s Mass of Christian Burial at 9 o clock.  Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Baker, Street, West Roxbury.

Ramoska, Gene

Gene C. Ramoska, a resident of Roslindale for 25 years, died Sunday, November 15th, 2009 at his home in Roslindale unexpectedly.  He was 64.  Gene was born August 7, 1945 in Norwood, MA.  He graduated from Norwood High School with the Class of 1963 and entered the US Navy in September of that year and served a two year tour of duty.  Gene worked as an employee of the City of Boston until his retirement.  He was  the husband of Kathleen F. (Donovan) and of the late Sandra (Kiklis).  He is survived by three daughters, Amy, Rita and Lisa; three stepchildren, David, Robert, and Michael Kiklis; and two sisters.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday, November 19th from 4-8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale.  Private burial will be in the National Cemetery at Bourne.  Donations in Gene’s memory to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108 would be appreciated.

Doeg, Minnie A.

Minnie Alberta Doeg, a resident of Emerald Bay Manor in Cumberland Rhode Island for a few years, died peacefully there on Thurday, November 12, 2009. Mrs. Doeg was born in Billtown, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1923 to the late Fred and Marie (Morton) Margeson. She was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1941. Mrs. Doeg lived in Hyde Park for many years and worked as a receptionist for Dr. Schwartz at his office in Hyde Park.  Her many hobbies included reading, Bingo and playing cards. She was married to the late Vernon P. Doeg who predeceased her in 1975. She is survived by her son Raymond P. Doeg and his wife Patricia of Cumberland, RI and her daughter Carolyn Cox and her husband Gary of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Violet Phares. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 11 am at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton, Massachusetts. Robertson, Stewart

Stewart Struan Robertson, a Dedham resident since 1935, died Wednesday, November 11th, 2009 at his home in Dedham.  He was 87.  Mr Robertson was born January 11, 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts, the only son of Stewart R., and Martha W. (Mayer) Robertson.  He graduated from the Dedham High School Class of 1939 and attended Northeastern University for two years, and Wentworth Instirute for two years.  Stewart served as a Seebee in the US Navy during World War Two.  After the war he worked as a wood pattern maker and model maker for the FW Dixon Company of Woburn for 38 years until his retirement in 1983. He also served as the vice president of the FW Dixon Company for 10 years.  Stewart was a talented woodworker who created handmade furniture, reproductions and limited carvings.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid reader.  He was a member of the Allin Congregation Church in Dedham where he served on the Prudential Committee; a member of Constellation Lodge AF & AM of Dedham where he was a 32nd degree mason and the corresponding secretary of the Lodge’s building committee; and a member of the Dedham Retired Mens Club.  Stewart is survived by his wife, Martha Minetta (Meckel); his two daughters, Carol R., and her husband Alan A. Milld of Holly Springs, North Carolina, and Susan J., and her husband Paul F. Butler of Holly Springs, North Carolina; his sister, Priscilla Callerman of Texas; and three grandchildren, John S. Lakian of San Francisco, California, Todd R. Butler of Morristown, New Jersey, and Allison L. Milld of Chicago, Illinois.  He was the brother of the late Jean Sellers.  Private interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service Saturday, November 21st, 2009 at 11 AM at the Allin Congregation Church, 683 High Street, Dedham, MA 02026.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Allin Congregational Church (address above) or to the VNA Care Hospice, 5 Federal Street, Danvers, MA 01923 would be appreciated.
