Call, Priscilla

Priscilla (Aitken) Call, a longtime resident of West Roxbury, died Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Newton Healthcare Center in Newton, Massachusetts after a long illness.  She was 86.  Priscilla was born October 22, 1923 in Boston, the only child of James Everett and Viola Louisa (Beal) Aitken.  She was an active member of both the former West Roxbury Congregational Church and the Stratford Street United Church where she was a member of the Women’s Union, the Mothers and Others Club, the Chairman of the Flower Committee, and ran a nursery class.  She also served on the Board of Directors of the Parkway Concert Orchestra, the West Roxbury YMCA, and the Sophia Snow House.  Priscilla was also a member of the West Roxbury Garden Club where she served as the Program Chairman for many years.  She also enjoyed spending her summers on Martha’s Vineyard.  Priscilla was the wife of the late Donald H. Call and is survived by her son, Donald H. Jr., and his wife Elizabeth, of Stowe; her daughter, Carolyn J. , and her husband Harry “Skip” Romsey, of Plainville; 5 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday, July 1st from 5-8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester.  Donations in her memory to the Stratford Street United Church, 77 Stratford Street, West Roxbury, MA 02132 would be appreciated.

Sheehan, Therese F. “Terry”

Therese Frances Sheehan, lovingly known to all as “Terry”, died suddenly at her home on June 24, 2010 at the age of 81. She lived in Allston for over 22 years and was formerly of Brighton. Terry was born in Cambridge,  the daughter of the late John J. and Helen I. (Mulcahy) Sheehan. She attended Regis College. She worked as a travel agent for Crimson Travel in Harvard Square for 12 years. Prior to that she worked at American Express Travel in Cambridge and University Travel in Boston. Terry was a member of The American Society of Travel Agents, the Clipped Wings Ski Club, and Community Boating for 25 years. She volunteered her time to the Franciscan Hospital for Children in Boston for 7 years, and was involved with the ” One on One” Program, which taught English to Vietnamese families in the area, many of whom she stayed in contact with today. She is survived by her brother Stephen A. “Steve” Sheehan of Brighton; and her nieces and nephews, Kerry, Hilary and Chuck Sheehan of West Palm Beach, FL, Marie Spence of VA, Stephanie and Gregg Diamond of Fairfax, VA, Deb Spence and Robin Corddry of Westwood, Barbara and Timothy Leary of Reading, Heidi and Bruce Dumais of Marston Mills and Stephen Sheehan of Dracut. She is also survived by many grandnieces, garndnephews and friends. She was the sister of the late Joseph B. Sheehan and Mary L. Spence. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, June 27, 2010, 3-7 pm at Lehman & Reen Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave, (Near Brighton Court house)  Brighton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 O’clock at St. Ignatius Church, 28 Commonwealth Avenue, Chestnut Hill. Burial will be private. Donations in Terry’s memory may be made to the Franciscan Hospital for Children, 30 Warren Street, Boston, MA.  02135.

Cimeno, Michael A.

Michael Anthony Cimeno, an almost lifelong resident of Dedham, died suddenly June 12th at his home in Dedham.  He was 45.  Michael was born April 16, 1965 in Norwood, Massachusetts, a son of Thomas A. and Judith A. (Basilici) Cimeno.  He attended Dedham High School and was the owner and operator of Cimeno Ceramic Tile company.  Michael was an assistant coach for Dedham Pop Warner Football.  He is survived by his wife, Amanda Rose (LaBarge) Cimeno; his four sons, Dylan Michael Cimeno, Brandon Anthony Cimeno, Patrick Joseph Cimeno, and Cole Angelo Cimeno, all of Dedham; his parents, Judith (Basilici) Cimeno of Dedham, and Thomas A. Cimeno of Cape Cod; his brother, T. Scott Cimeno of Cape Cod; and his sister, Holly Mannion of Marshfield.  Visiting hours Thursday 5 to 9 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday at 10 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 950 East Street, Dedham followed by burial at the Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery, Baker Street, West Roxbury.

Harvey, Norman P.

Norman P. Harvey, a resident of Readville for the past 20 years, and formerly of Lexington, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Mass General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.  He was 77.  Norman was born July 30, 1932 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, one of the five children of Horace and Helen (Fougere) Harvey.  After high school he joined the US Army and served for two years during the Korean War.  Norman worked as a carpenter for Manzelli and Fusco Construction Company until it closed when its owner retired.  He then joined with his longtime friend Victor Sergi and they started H & S Construction where he worked until his retirement in 1998.  It was stated that Norman was a gentle man, even with a sledgehammer!  Norman was the husband of the late Marlene (Wentworth) and the brother of the late Edna Gagnon, Irene Kelley, and Harris Columbus “Sonny” Harvey.  He is survived by his wife of 20 years, June (Neas); his two sons, Daniel P. Harvey, and his wife Donna, of Marlborough, and Thomas Harvey, and his wife Ann, of Charlotte, North Carolina; his daughter, Sandra Trainor, and her husband David, of Ocala, Florida; his brother, Maurice “Mo” Harvey of Burlington; his 8 grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew, Austin, Joseph, Theresa, Lydia, and Dayna Harvey, and Alexandra Trainor; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.  He also leaves his longtime friend Victor Sergi of Billerica.  Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Folsom Funeral Home, Tuesday at 8 AM to proceed to St. Anne’s Church, 82 West Milton Street, Readville for his Mass of Christian Burial at 9 o clock.  Burial will be in Westview Cemetery in Lexington.  In lieu of flowers donations to Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, Massachusetts, 02368 would be appreciated.

Searles, Edward A.

Edward Archibald Searles, a 52 year resident of Dedham, formerly of Cambridge, died Wednesday June 9, 2010 at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center. He was 87. Edward was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada,  the son of the late Joseph A. and Jennie J. (Richards) Searles. In 1942 Mr. Searles joined the United States Army, serving during World War II, receiving a number of medals for his service including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Ed was a charter member of  the Jacob Jones VFW Post 2017 in Dedham, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Club. He was a Hoisting Operating Engineer, a retired member of the IUOE Local #4 with over 50 years of service, and worked on many prominent projects in Boston including the Prudential , John Hancock, 60 State Street and the Christian Science Center. He was predeceased by his wife,  the love of his life for 65 years, Margaret Rose (Ray) Searles. Ed is survived by his daughter Sandra A. Brewer and her husband Lawrence E. of Dedham; his grandchildren, Christine E. and her husband Bruce Trundley of Dedham, Jennifer and her husband Mark Gjika, Charles and his wife  Joelle Murphy and Chad and his wife Julie Brewer;, his great grandchildren, (who lovingly called him “Arby”), Charles, Hannah, Eva Rose Murphy, Jennie and Bruce Trundley. He is also survived by his brother Irving Searles, his sister Edna Cotter, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Elbert Searles, George Searles, Emily Healy, Ellen Johnson and Irene Lecuyer. Visiting hours will be held Sunday June 13, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton St., Dedham. Funeral Monday June 14th at 9:30 am from the funeral home followed by his Mass of Christian burial which will be celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Church, 420 High St. Dedham. Burial at The Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery, Baker Street, West Roxbury. Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made in Mr. Searles memory to Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
