Irene Louise (Garber) Sawyer, a longtime resident of Dedham, died Sunday, April 23, 2023 at her residence at the Village at Willow Crossing in Mansfield. She was 94. Irene was born October 25, 1928 in Boston, the only daughter of Arthur E. and Irene A. (Habblitz) Garber. She graduated from Dedham High School and worked as an office clerk for the First National Bank of Boston. Irene was the wife of the late Kenneth Sawyer and is predeceased by her six brothers, Arthur, Robert, Roy, George, Ralph, and Herbert Garber. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, May 2nd from noon to 1 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 1 ‘o clock. Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston. Donations in her memory to the Special Olympics of Massachusetts, 512 Forest Street, Marlborough, MA 01752 would be appreciated.

So very sorry to hear of your aunts passing, Russ! She was a very, very special lady. Even though I never met her, I did talk to her on the phone. What a joy she was for y’all! Hugs and prayers to your family!
