Hester, Ben J.

Ben Joe Hester, a resident of Dedham, MA died Wednesday, November 1st, 2023 at his home in Dedham unexpectedly. He was 73. Ben was born March 21, 1950, the oldest son of Joseph and Mary Bell (Lawrence) Hester, both of North Carolina. He was the brother of the late Jacqueline Hester and is survived by his two sons, Eric T. Hester of Hyde Park, and Dexter Hester of Dedham; three siblings, Charles Hester, Evon Bennett, and Bruce Hester; his god-daughter Regina Joyner; as well as 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ben enjoyed playing pool and was a Trustee and parishioner at the Holy Tabernacle Church in Dorchester. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 9th from 10 to 11 am at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham followed by a funeral service at 11 am in the funeral home. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery in Boston.

    My deepest sympathy to the family. I went to junior high school with Ben and would run into him occasionally and we always reminisce about the old days. Rest in peace my childhood friend
