Caruso, Frederick
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick F. Caruso of Dedham, Massachusetts on April 15, 2024. Fred was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, in-law and friend.
Fred
proudly served both his country and his community, first as a U.S Army veteran,
and then for the next 40 years as a Patrolman with the Dedham Police
Department. Having lived and worked almost his entire life in Dedham,
Fred was well-known throughout town. He loved serving as a police officer
and whether it was Officer Caruso, Fred or Freddy, it seems that everyone knew
him, and he knew everyone. Fred genuinely enjoyed being around people. His
knack of being able to talk to anyone, together with his sense of humor, gave
him the ability to make a bad situation better, and a good time great.
Fred deeply loved and cherished both his
immediate and extended family. No matter what, there was nothing he would
not do for them. Whether you succeeded or failed, it did not matter to
Fred. You could always count on him to be there helping, encouraging and
occasionally pointing out the error of your ways. He was so proud of his
wife, his children and his grandchildren and he made sure the world knew it.
Fred was predeceased by his parents Orlando
Caruso of Oregon and Anna Cannata of Readville, MA, as well as his sister,
Patricia Schifone of Hudson, Florida.
He sadly leaves behind the family he so much
adored, namely his wife Sandy as well as his children and grandchildren: Gina Mohan, her husband Scott, and their
children Christina and Ava, of Apopka, Florida; Roger Caruso, his wife Monica,
and their sons Preston and Trent, of Chuluota, Florida; Michele Walsh, her
husband Bill, and their children Alyssa, Julia, Will and Leah, of Dedham,
Massachusetts; and Michael Caruso of Dedham, Massachusetts. Fred also leaves
behind his brother Roger Caruso of Franklin, Massachusetts, as well as many
in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
None of us will ever forget Fred and how much he
meant to each and every one of us. We all have our stories about Fred
that make us smile with every telling. He will be forever missed but will
always live on in our hearts and memories.
In lieu of formal services, we hope that you
will join us to honor his memory on Sunday, May 5th from 2:00 PM to
6:00 PM at the American Legion Post 18, 155 Eastern Avenue, Dedham, MA.
Sandy, Roger, and family,
I’m so sorry to hear of Freddie’s passing. I enjoyed getting to know him over the years. He was a nice guy.

Dear Sandy and Family,
Fred was larger then life. I got to know Fred and Sandy when I started at Muzi. There are those few customers that you are always happy to see. They were them.
Fred and I had a good ribbing relationship and I have missed that.
I bumped into them a few months ago at the market and nothing had changed.
His name did and will always put a smile on my face.
RIP Fred.
Our Condolences RIP Fred
So sorry for your loss he was a great man
Sandy and Family,
I am truly sorry for your loss, Freddie was such a great person,I had the privilege to grow up in the town knowing him and later lucky enough to work with him, when I dispatched for the town. He was a funny, caring guy that always looked out for people. His laugh and his sense of humor was contagious, he could always cheer up a bad day. It was a honor to know such a man and it was a bigger honor to work with him and listen to his life advice warranted or not.
I hated that he was right! But extremely grateful for the life advice.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
