Bowman, Frederick T.
Frederick Theodore “Freddy” Bowman, a resident of Weymouth, and formerly of Jamaica Plain, died Wednesday,May 5, 2010, at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was 84. Fred was born and raised in Jamaica Plain, the son of the late Frederick L. and Linda (Birkholz) Bowman. He was a graduate of Central Evening High School in Boston and worked at the Faulkner Hospital for 29 years, retiring in 1980. Since 1947, Fred was a faithful member of the Boylston Congregational Church, Jamaica Plain, where he served as a deacon. Fred was the cherished brother of the late Martha L. (Bowman) Dempsey. He was the beloved uncle of Linda Dempsey of Weymouth, Leslie and Steve Brousseau of Evans, GA, Laurie and Jim Hall of Scituate, Scott Dempsey of Spartanburg, SC, Steven and Keri Dempsey of Marietta, GA, and the late Susan Dempsey Baer. He will also be dearly missed by his 14 great-nephews and nieces. Fred had a wonderful sense of humor, and he loved life and his family. A memorial service in celebration of Fred’s life will be held during the worship service at Boylston Congreg- ational Church on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 10:45 a.m. Remembrances in his memory may be made to the Boylston Congregational Church, 207 Amory Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
