Johnson, Erick

Erick Arthur Warren Johnson, a lifelong resident of Jamaica Plain, died Monday, March 28th, 2011 at the Armenian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jamaica Plain.  He was 95.  Arthur was born November 7, 1915 in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of Karl Oskar and Anna (Lundgren) Johanson, emmigrants from Sweden.  He graduated from Mechanic Arts High School and from Northeastern University with the Class of 1938.  Arthur served in the US Navy Seabee’s, 13th US Naval Construction Battalion, in the Asiatic-Pacific theatre during World War Two.  After the war he worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Works as a civil engineer and land surveyor for 38 years until his retirement in 1977.  Arthur was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Roxbury where he served as he financial secretary for 28 years.  He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lilly Evelyn (Enroth) Johnson; his son, David A. Johnson, and his wife Ann L., of East Bridgewater; his daughters, Carolyn J. Paul of West Roxbury, and Elaine J. Spangler, and her husband Dennis, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and his five grandchildren, Kirsten A. Langdon, and her husband Jay, Erick R. Johnson, and his wife Trisha, Daniel J. Spangler, and his wife Tracie, Liesel I. Spangler, and Christopher Tisbert.  He was the brother of the late C. Walter Johanson, and the father-in-law of the late Victor Paul.  Visiting hours will be held Friday, April 1st from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday at 2 PM at the Ressurection Luthern Church, 94 Warren Street, Roxbury, folllowed by burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Resurrection Lutheran Church, 94 Warren Avenue, Boston, MA 02119 would be appreciated.
