Tomilson, Raymond F. Jr.

Raymond F. Tomilson Jr. , a 45 year resident of Norwood, died Monday, June 20, 2011 after a long illness. He was 83. Raymond was born in Dedham and was a proud River Rat! He was the son of the late Raymond F. Sr. & Theresa Tomilson. He joined the United States Army during World War II and served with the 82nd Airborne Division.  After leaving the army he joined the Merchant Marine. When he returned home he owned and operated Ray’s Auto Sales on Bridge Street in Dedham for over 50 years. He was predeceased by his wife Mildred R. (Harper) Tomilson. He is survived by his daughter Kathleen R. Tomilson and her husband Mark Hyland of Cumberland, Rhode Island; his son Robert C. and his wife Kathie Tomilson of Coventry, Rhode Island; his granddaughter Megan Tomilson; and his sister Lillian Wooldridge of Virginia. Raymond was the father of the late Sharon J. Tomilson and the brother of the late Richard Tomilson,  Walter Tomilson, Eleanor Snow and Gladys Meiner. Visitation will be held Friday, June 24, 2011 from 11 am – 12 pm at Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham, MA, with a graveside service following at 12:30 pm at Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers donations to the Newfoundland Club of New England, ATTN: Janet Bloch, Secretary, PO Box 2323, New Preston, CT. 06777 would be appreciated.
