My mother (Elizabeth Bryant) and I want to express our sympathy to the Shreve family. Our family all knew Jayne through St. John’s as well as through the Dedham High School band. Jayne was a very warm, charming and intelligent woman. As band members, my sisters and I remember her quiet caring presence at band events as well as at St. John’s. And my mother enjoyed Jayne’s friendship through the church activities for 50 years. We are sure Jayne will be greatly missed.

I will never forget the many happy memories I shared with Grandmother, some of my fondest memories are as a young boy when I picked raspberries with her and played milk jug bowling while vacationing in Maine. And every Tuesday during the school year I would walk to her house at lunch time, and we would burn our favorite colored drip candle while eating lunch together. Those are just a few of the very special times I will cherish. You will be sadly missed.

Purely by accident when I was looking at my mother’s obituary on the Folsom sight I saw Jayne’s obituary. Doris Matheson passed in May. I saw Jayne at my father’s funeral more than 10 years ago. My sympathy and thoughts go to you Betty Jane and Judy. Betty Jane it is a small world. My husband and I have a home in Wells, ME and spend a lot of time there. We were in Cape Elizabeth this fall. I have many fond memories of both your parents and the role they played in my young life. My best to you all. Jean Matheson Dewar

I was so sorry to read of Jane’s death. She (and Bob) were wonderful neighbors on Highland Ave. and Betty Jane and I were happy playmates. I remember going over on Sunday evening for their popcorn and apples suppers. Jane was so welcoming to us when we moved into the neighborhood and I know she and my mother became good friends. My mother died this June at age 93. This is the passing of an era of really good mothers who could make do without much money and posessions. My deepest sympathies to all of you. Cynthia
