Youlden, Ellen W.

Ellen W. (Daggett)Youlden, a resident of New Pond Village in Walpole, MA passed away on July 24, 2012.  She was 89.  Born in Portland, Maine she was the daughter of Neil Daggett and Ruth W. (Little).  Mrs. Youlden was a graduate of Milo High School in Milo, Maine and attended the University of Maine in Orono, ME where she studied nursing.  During World War II she met and married Richard H. Youlden and together they raised 3 children.  Mrs. Youlden was a member of the First Parish of Westwood United Church, she was an avid rug hooker and liked gardening.  As an extremely social person, she made friends easily and was popular at New Pond Village.  Family was very important to her and she cherished all the time they spent together.  She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 1998.  She is survived by her children, Richard H. Youlden. Jr. of Wareham and his late wife Dianne, Keith E. Youlden and his wife Mary of Medfield and Nancy Y. Williams and her husband Bill of Santee, SC and her 6 grandchildren, Cara Strock, Troy Williams, Derek, Kristen, Emily and Anna Youlden and 7 great grandchildren.  She was the sister of the late Neil Daggett, Jr. and devoted companion of the late Jack Wentzell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the First Parish of Westwood United Church, 340 Clapboardtree St., Westwood, MA 02090.  A reception will follow at the Parish Hall.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Perkins School for the Blind, 175 North Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472 or to the charity of your choice.
