Barker, Gordon B., Sr.
Gordon B. Barker, Sr. passed away on August 21, 2012 at the age of 86. Born in Springfield, MA, he was the son of Calvin B. and Millie (Ambrose). He resided in Bellingham, MA before moving to Port Charlotte, Florida where he lived for 13 years. Mr. Barker liked to play golf, enjoyed boating and was on various bowling leagues over the years. He was an animal lover. Dogs were especially his favorite.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley R. (Petersen) in February of this year. He is survived by his children Gordon B., Jr. and his wife Trisha of Norfolk and Sharyn Feeney and her husband Daniel of Walpole; his five grandchildren, Joy Grover, Scott Feeney, April Barker, Alyson McRell and Andrew Barker, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Barker also had two siblings, the late Roy Barker and Bernice Wennerstrom.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11AM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High St., Westwood. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472 or to the Christen Foundation-Beacon Hospice Fund, 5959 Sherwood Forest Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
