Petrucci, Louise A.

Louise Ann (Ioannilli) Petrucci passed away on October 16, 2012 at the age of 81.  She was born on August 26, 1931 in Dedham, MA to Italian immigrants, Luigi and Madellenna (Nascenzi) Ioannilli.  Louise was the youngest of seven children and the only daughter of her parents.  Growing up on Washington Street in Dedham, she helped her mother take care of the family business, a small grocery store.  She graduated from Dedham High School, Class of 1950 and later attended nursing school. Due to the construction of the Dedham Mall, the family homestead was demolished and a new home was built nearby on Brookdale Avenue where Louise resided until 2010. In 1954,  she married Paul Peter Petrucci.  They had three children, Paula, in 1955 followed by Anthony in 1958 and Peter in 1960.  Louise worked as a nurse for over 40 years mostly working nights while her family was young and later working part time at Eastwood Nursing Home in Dedham until her retirement in 1998. Louise and Paul were well known for entertaining large amounts of people and their love of cooking.  The warm and friendly atmosphere coupled with great food made for many fond visits to their home.  A devout catholic, Louise regularly attended services at St. Mary’s church in Dedham.  Her children attended St. Mary’s elementary school and were involved in many church related activities. Louise and Paul enjoyed traveling and times spent with family and friends both at home and abroad.  They traveled to Italy several times, Brazil, Spain and Hawaii for their 25th wedding anniversary. She is predeceased by her husband, three children and her brothers, Joseph, Angelo, Gino, Anthony, Virgilio and Bruno Ioannilli. She is survived by her grandchildren, Trevor and Zachary Norris of South Carolina, her sister-in-law Joanne Ioannilli of Foxboro, her nieces and nephews Marie Cox and Patricia Russo of Norwood, Richard, John, Louis and Steven Ioannilli, Nancy Dumican and Christopher Brillant of North Attleboro as well as many other extended family members and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 9:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 420 High St., Dedham.  Interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.  The family is extremely grateful for the caring and devoted staff of the Pond Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Pond Home, Employee Appreciation Fund, 289 East St., Wrentham, MA 02093.

Charlie and I want to express our deepest sympathys to Louise’s family. I grew up next door to Louise and Paul prior to my marriage to Charlie. They were such a great family always ready to help everyone in need. Louise had suffered great losses when Paul and her children passed away. She remained stong to her faith. My mom and Louise walked almost daily and were great friends. She was there for my mom who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. She will be sadly missed. Louise, we will constantly keep you in our prayers.
