Shaw, David K., Sr.
David K. Shaw, Sr., a resident of Millis passed away on January 12, 2013 after a long illness at the age of 68. David was born in Newton, Massachusetts, the only son of Frederick R. and Edith E. (Keyes) Shaw. A former resident of Norwood and an active member of the United Church of Norwood, he was a member of the Norwood Elks (B.P.O.E.) and of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows of Walpole. He was also previously on the board of the Perkins School for the Blind where he was a consultant on how to improve their books on tape. Mr. Shaw was an avid reader and history buff. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and outings with his family. He was married to Georgia E. (Becker) and together they raised 3 children; David K. Shaw, Jr. of Millis, Marie E. Maloney of Norwood and Jennifer L. Simpson of Brockton. He had one sister, Sandra Cole of Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was a devoted grandfather to his 8 grandchildren, Jessica L. and James R. Simpson, Michelle Hughes, John and Matthew Maloney and Laura, David G., and Shawnmichaels Shaw. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 11 AM at the United Church of Norwood, 595 Washington St., Norwood, MA 02062. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 4 to 8 PM at the May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols St., Norwood. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the United Church of Norwood Memorial Fund at the address listed above.
David was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed. He always had a friendly word to say whenver we spoke. I hope that as you go through this difficult time, there will be many memories that also cause you to smile and celebrate his life.

As a member of the Odd Fellows, I met and came to admire and respect David’s love of and dedication to both his family and those things he was passionate about. I look forward to meeting him once again, in the world made new, after our Lord’s return. May God richly bless all those he loved, and give him rest until that glorious day.
