Dimakopoulos, Nicolas

Nicolas “Nick” Dimakopoulos, a longtime resident of Dedham, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at his home at Traditions of Dedham.  He was 79.  Nick was born May 27, 1933 in Tripoli, Greece, a son of Christos and Antonia (Tangelos) Dimakopoulos.  He emmigrated to Canada in the 1960’s and then moved to the Boston area around 1967.  Nicolas owned Dairy Queen Restaurants.  He retired about twenty years ago.  Nick enjoyed gardening and travelling, especially visits back to Greece.  He is survived by his daughter, Tonia Dimakopoulos, of Athens, Greece; two sisters, Euterpe Thomas of Dedham, and Irene Giannakopoulos of West Roxbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Nick was the brother of the late Jane Gavogiannis, and the late Theodore Dimakopoulos.  Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, February 13th from 5 to 9 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home, Thursday morning at 9 AM and proceed to Saint Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 39 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale, for Nick’s funeral service at 10 ‘o clock.  Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.  In lieu of flowers donations to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01770 would be appreciated
