Pa was an amazing man with a wonderful attitude in life despite the many obstacles life threw in his direction. He did everything to take care of every person in his life, and as a grandchild, I know first hand how well he treated each and everyone of us. Going to miss his smiling face, watching westerns with him, or just talking. His jokes were always the highlights of my day. Going to miss pa with all of my heart, this earth lost a very special man this weekend.

Don welcomed my kids and I into this family and has treated us like he has known us our whole lives. I loved the way he spoke of his beautiful girl, Diane of course. I love the stories of Bruce and Don and the years they didn’t get along. They grew to have an amazing love and admiration for each other. He has had a rough couple of years and I never once heard him complain. He loved with his whole heart. I appreciate the way he loved my children as his grandchildren. I will greatly miss his smiling face and the hugs he gave. Love you Pa and will miss you so very much!!!! xoxo

    Dear Sweet Diane,
Although you have been in my thoughts and prayers so often over the past few years, tonight my heart is hurts for you and the family. Whenever I have thought of you and Don it ALWAYS brought a smile to my face, ALWAYS. I’ve missed you. Just heard the incredibly sad news and wish I could be there with you tomorrow. I’ll be praying hard for all of you. Although we cry here at the loss of Don in our world, Jesus is smiling welcoming his good and faithful servant home. I too look forward to seeing Don’s smiling face one day again.
I love you Diane!! (See you soon.)

There sure isn’t a whole lot more I can say about Pa that hasn’t already been said. But it is all true. He was an amazing man who liked and was liked by everybody. He was always right there for you if you needed help with something. His grandchildren absolutely adore him. When my boys were little and we said “Do you wanna see Pa?” their little faces would totally light up. They always had fun with Pa. I know we all wish that we could have one more year with our loved ones but that’s God’s decision not ours. I have to believe that this is what God wanted. We will miss Pa very very much. I will never forget the last things we said to each other in the hospital. I said “Behave yourself PA” and he said “okay Baby, I will”. I will miss hearing him calling me baby or sweetie. I love and miss you Pa. You are in my heart until the day comes when we are together as a family once again.
