Sattler, Christiane

Christiane (Jedamski) Sattler, of Westwood, formerly of Hannover, Germany, passed away peacefully on the early morning of June 3, 2013  at the Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge.  She was 47.  Christiane was born September 16, 1965 in Seesen, Germany, the daughter of the late Johann and Ruth Anna Maria (Leipolz) Jedamski.  Christiane was the beloved wife of 20 years of Martin Sattler and loving mother to her daughters Larissa, Anabel and Kayleigh Sattler.  She earned her M.A. in politics and doctorate degree in history from the University of Hannover, Germany. Christiane dedicated her life to sharing her love and expertise in German language and culture as a lecturer at Boston University and a teacher at the Boylston Schulverein, where she taught German to children and adults. She will be remembered as a kind and compassionate individual who dearly loved and adored her children and spared no effort to bring happiness to their hearts. Her strength along with her everlasting smile will forever be remembered by her family, friends and neighbors.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday, June 6th from 6 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by interment in New Westwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations to Thoracic Oncology Research would be appreciated.  Checks should be made payable to Mass General Hospital, Thoracic Oncology, and sent to the MGH Development Office, 165 Cambridge Street, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114.

    Dear Martin: I was so sorry to learn about your wife. It is such a tragedy. Although I did not know her personally, she was a very talented and loving person. It is just too bad that medicine cannot offer more in this situation.
