Elizabeth Veronica (Murphy) Capone,  a lifelong resident of Dedham, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Charlwell House in Norwood, after a long illness.  She was 81.  Elizabeth was born January 2, 1932 in Dedham, the daughter of  Arthur P. and Mary (McGrath) Murphy.  Elizabeth enjoyed being a homemaker and later in life a dog walker. She was the wife of the late Walter E. Capone, and the sister of the late Arthur, Jake, and Mary Murphy. She is survived by her daughters Gayle E. Capone of Dedham and Peggy Capone Butler of Cherry Hill, CO; her granddaughter Ann C. Butler,and her brother Joe Murphy of Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian burial Monday, September 16, 2013 at 11 o’ clock followed by burial in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. In lieu of flowers donations in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Dedham, 55 Anna’s Place, Dedham, MA 02026.

    Just remember all the happy memories you have of your mother. She certainly loved going to the Xmas bazaars (even though she didn’t buy anything) and then loved going out to lunch. I’m going to remember all the happy stories she told me and what a real “lady” she was. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

    I don’t know if you’ll remember me, it’s been 55 years, but we were childhood friends in Dedham. I saw the Capone name in the paper and when I read your name in the notice I was transported back to being 5 years old, playing dolls at your house…a long time ago. I just wanted to send along my condolences.

    Dear Gayle,What can i possibly say to you my very first childhood and lifetime friend? So very heartbroken to just learn the news of your moms passing, would have been at Service had i known. What a loving and supportive daughter she had in you, know she took great comfort in that. Though Boon Girls live on Cape Cod now, we have many childhood memories of being your neighbor, and more importantly life long friends! You are always in my heart and all of ours, i loved her too….., she will continue to make me smile. You are a very special daughter, we know………… Wendy , Jenna, and Kristin Boon
