MacDonald, Katherine
Katherine I. MacDonald, a resident of Ashland and formerly a long time resident of Westwood, passed away Friday, December 6, at her daughters home in Walpole. She was 93 years old. Katherine was born on June 27, 1920 in Prince Edward Island, Canada. She was the daughter of Alfred and Laura (Bears) MacDonald. Katherine Attended the Boston Business College and Majored in Accounting. She was hired as an accountant and worked for GTE Sylvania in Needham. Katherine also became a Certified Professional Secretary in 1960, and was only one of eleven Certified Professional Secretary’s in Massachusetts at that time. She enjoyed sharing her secretarial skills and abilities and often ran study groups for many secretarial organizations. She was the loving mother of Lois Cook of Walpole, and the step mother to Bruce MacDonald of Falls Church, Virginia. Services and Interment for Katherine will be private. Donations in Katherine’s name may be sent to the Neponset Valley Humane Society, P.O. Box 544, Norwood, Massachusetts 02062.
