Robert Merle Humphrey Jr., a longtime resident of Dedham, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Norwood Hospital.  He was 71.  Robert was born October 5, 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the three sons of Robert M. Sr., and Eva (Colby) Humphrey.  He was a graduate of  Dedham High School and served in the US Navy from 1960 until 1963 during the Vietnam War.  Robert worked as an auto mechanic for Brigham Gill Pontiac in Natick for 40 years until his retirement in 2008.  Robert was a Boston Bruins fan and held season’s ticket to their games.  He also enjoyed country music and Nascar racing. Robert is survived by his two brothers, Thomas W. Humphrey, and his wife Carol L., of Braintree, and Richard C. Humphrey, and his wife Judith L.,  of Wrentham; his niece, Jessica Conley of Wrentham; and three nephews, Steven Humphrey of Braintree, Mark Humphrey of Norfolk, and Matthew Humphrey of Braintree.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM a the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton St., Dedham.  Interment to follow at Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.  Donations to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, Massachusetts, 02451 would be appreciated.
