Oertel, Minna
Minna D. (Ehnes) Oertel,a resident of Westwood for over 50 years, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Wingate at Needham Nursing Home in Needham. She was 100. Minna was born November 15, 1908 in Newton, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Christien and Louise (Schroeder) Ehnes. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Haffenreffer Brewery in Jamaica Plain. Minna was the wife of the late Carl Henry Oertel. She is survived by her cousins, Elizabeth Ehnes of Chestnut Hill, MA and Carole Power of Alexandria, VA, and her friends Jane and Frank Sivacek of Medway, as well as nieces in Pennsylvania. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Saturday, April 11th at 11 AM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 950 East Street, Dedham. Burial will be Monday, April 13th at 9 AM in Gethsemane Cemetery in West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 950 East Street, Dedham, MA 02026 would be appreciated.
