Lois Mary (George) Lawson Hills, a resident of Westwood for over 60 years, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 in Needham in her 100th year.  Lois was born April 22, 1915 in Boston, the only daughter of Frank B. and Laura (Shone) George.  She grew up in Boston was a proud graduate of the Boston Girls’ Latin School.  She was an active member of the Stratford Street Baptist Church and it’s youth social group, and she was active in Girl Scouts.  At the age of 24 she and a friend travelled cross country by train.  Lois loved languages and taught herself German, Swedish and Italian, which helped her in her travels.   She was an avid “shutterbug” and a member of the Camera Club; a member of the Westwood Historical Society; and a member of the Westwood Garden Club, another of her passions.  She also loved animals, and kept dogs and cats as pets.  Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church of Westwood for over 60 years and taught Sunday School in her younger years.  She was also a very talented seamstress who made much of her own clothing.  She was the wife of the late Alfred Herbert Lawson who died in 1971, and of the late Robert Sweetser Hills who passed away in 2008. She greatly enjoyed being the wife of a Mason, and of a Lions member, and the social activities those entailed.  She was the sister of the late Edward F. George and is survived by her niece, Carol G. Hines of Wayland, as well and many grandnieces and grandnephews.  Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, September 24th from 2 to 4 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church of Westwood, 808 High Street, Westwood.  After cremation, Lois will be interred with her first husband, Herb, at the Old Westwood Cemetery in Westwood.  Donations in her memory to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 90 Wells Avenue, Newton, MA, 02459 (www.gscommunitycare.org) or to the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130 (www.mspca.org) would be appreciated.
