Arthur-Broderick, Rita M.
Rita M. Arthur-Broderick (Martin), passed away peacefully on November 19, 2014 at the age of 88. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Alfred J. and Margaret M. (Donovan) Martin. Rita was a resident of Hyde Park for many years before moving to Marshfield. Before her retirement, she was employed by the state and worked for the Taunton and Mattapan State Hospitals as a laundress. She was known by many for her quick wit and great sense of humor, but mostly as a true friend. Rita was married to the late William F. Broderick. Her family is comforted knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved Bill. She was the loving mother of Robert J. Arthur of Norton, Karen Bayha and her husband Robert of Marshfield, Kathryn Peterson and her husband Michael of Norton, step-son Martin Broderick and his wife Deborah of Tucson, AZ and mother-in-law of Donna Arthur of Norwood. She was the devoted “Nana” of Jennifer Danielson and her husband Rick, Michael Peterson and his wife Kelly, Kerryanne Cummins and her husband Warren, Shannon Hardiman and her husband Brian, Alexander Arthur , Christopher Broderick, Robby and Carolyn Bayha and great grandmother to Mason, James, Molly, Brendan and Kylie. She is also survived by her nieces, grandnieces and 1 great niece. She was predeceased by her siblings Alfred M. Martin and Louise M. Grant. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:15AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the funeral home in Dedham.
