Salvatore Gatto, a resident of Dedham for 50 years, died Saturday, January 12, 2014 at his home in Dedham.  He was 92.  Salvatore was born January 14, 1922 in Boston, a son of Santo and Carmela (Viola) Gatto, immigrants from Italy.  He was the last surviving of his seven brothers and one sister.  Sal owned and operated his own pizza shop.  He retired in the early 1990’s.  Mr. Gatto was the husband of the late Francesca (Caffo) Gatto.  He is survived by his daughter, Carmela Ragucci of Dedham, Mitchell Weinstein of Dedham, and his grandson, Anthony Ruzzo of Dedham.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Jan 15th from 4 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home Friday at 10 AM and proceed to St. Anne’s Church, 82 West Milton Street, Readville for his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 o clock.  Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Boston.
