Violet Heath Wellington,  96, of Westwood, MA, formerly of Scarsdale, NY, Wellesley, MA, Osterville, MA and Vero Beach, FL, died on Sunday, February 8, 2015 in Norwood, MA.  She was born in Buffalo, NY.

A loving wife, grandmother and great grandmother, Violet is survived by her four sons and their wives — Roger Underwood Wellington Jr. and Elise  of West Boylston, David Heath Wellington of  So.Dartmouth, Charles Oliver Wellington II and Louisa of Osterville and Jeffrey Alden Wellington and Susan of Buffalo, NY;  seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years, Roger Underwood Wellington, and her brother, Horton Hubbard Heath Jr.
A graduate of The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY, she was a loyal alumna of Smith College in Northhampton, MA, but chose to marry at the end of her sophomore year instead of graduating with her class of 1940.
Violet loved her home, family and friends.  She participated enthusiastically in all aspects of her life and community; sports, music, theater and bridge were her favorites.
Services and interment are private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
