Neely, Dorothy J.
Dorothy J. (Schaffner) Neely, a resident of Roslindale, passed away on March 7, 2015 at the Deutsches Altenhein in West Roxbury. She was 96. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of William Harrison and Bertha K. (Naumann) Schaffner. She worked as a bookkeeper for Ferdinands Furniture Store in Roxbury and Allan Furniture in Roslindale. . She enjoyed knitting and volunteer work at local thrift shops. Mrs. Neely was the beloved wife of the late James F. Neely and was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Ruth Treseler and Lillian Montouri. She is survived by her nephew, Paul Treseler and his wife Leslie of Plymouth.Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 11 AM followed by her funeral service at 11:00 o clock at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale. Interment will follow in the Old Westwood Cemetery in Westwood, MA. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the German Center for Extended Care, 2222 Centre St., West Roxbury, MA 02132.
