Rita Marie (Tagliaferro) Mageee, a resident of Westwood since 1972, and formerly of Jamaica Plain, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Charlwell Nursing Home in Norwood after a long illness. She was 88. Rita was born February 7, 1927 in Boston, Massachusetts. She attended the Chevrus School in Jamaica Plain and worked for ten years as an assembler in a shoe factory. Rita was the wife of the late John Leo Magee and the last surviving of her 11 other siblings. She is survived by her two sons, John L. Magee Jr. of Haverhill, and Kenneth R. Magee of Burlington; her granddaughter, Marcia A. Hughes of Billerica; and her two great grandchildren, Amber and Andrew Hughes. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, April 8th, from 4 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home Thursday at 9 AM and proceed to St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High Street, Westwood for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o clock. Interment will follow in New Westwood Cemetery.
