Cox, Bruce

Bruce O. Cox passed away at home surrounded by family September 7, 2015 at the age of 74. Born in Salem, MA he was the son of W. Ryland Cox and Ruth Woodman Cox. Bruce proudly served as a member of the United States Coast Guard for six years and went on to a successful career as an Electrical Engineer specializing in RF circuit design at such companies as Bell and Howell, Telco Systems and Motorola. He was also an avid fan of photography, boating and music and often enjoyed playing the piano at family gatherings. Bruce also showed an affinity for architecture. He designed and built both his primary residence and a family vacation home in New Hampshire.  Bruce loved his family and took great joy in caring for his dogs Sati and Tala. After retirement, he was actively involved in the Yankee Siberian Husky Club. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Olga, and their three children Maika, Jeff and Nicole. He also leaves behind five grandchildren Marin, Maia, Zachary, Madelin and Daniel; his daughter-in-law Kristin and his sons-in-law Michael and Par. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11 am at Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood MA 02090 followed by burial in Locust Grove Cemetery in Ipswich.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Bruce’s memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston MA 02284-9168.

    Bruce is gone from our sight, but not from our hearts!!
    We’re so very sorry for your loss, but we will always remember the good times – wishing we could turn back the hands of time.
    It’s our hope that Bruce is resting peacefully with his Beloved Satchi and Tala – his best pals.

    Olga, Maika, Jeff and Nicki, Gene and I are so sorry to hear that Bruce has died. Many good memories from the 70’s and couples club at the VFW.
