Fontaine, John W. Sr.
John William Fontaine Sr., a longtime resident of Dedham, died Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Gosnell Hospice Home in Scarborough, Maine, near his home in Kennebunk. He was 78. John was born December 14, 1936 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the eleven children of Francis and Gladys (Crawford) Fontaine. John worked as a machinist NRC which later became the Norton Company. He was an auxiliary policeman for the Town of Dedham. John is survived by his wife, Elinor Josephine (Friend) Fontaine; his two sons, John W. Fontaine Jr., and his wife Mary, of Dedham, and Brian Fontaine of Milford, New Hampshire; his two daughters, Robin Pye, and her husband James of Milford, and Roxanne Fontaine of Saulsalito, California; and his six grandchildren, John and Patricj Fontaine, Jessica and Christine Pye, and Angela and Elizabeth Fontaine; Visiting hours will be held Friday from 3 to 7 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 7 o clock. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Road, Scarborough, Maine 04074 would be appreciated.
