Harding, William B.

William Blaisdell Harding, 90, of Westwood, January 13, 2016.  Husband of 61 years of the late Lora (Blake) Harding.  Father of Kathryn B. Harding and her husband Edward J. Richardson of Westwood, and Leslie C. Harding and his partner Gail Dolan of Jay, Maine.  Grandfather of William F.H. Richardson of Westwood, and Elaine H. Richardson and her fiancee Susan Johnson of Boston.  Grandfather of Mila Harding Omar and her husband Hany Omar and great-grandfather of Diana Nour Omar, all of Ellicott City, Maryland.  Brother of Mary Lee (Harding) Wales of Salem, Oregon, and twin brother of the late John Wheeler Harding, Jr.  He is also survived by his cousins, Eunice Pikuzinski of Bridgton, Maine, and Harriet Esposito, of Belmont, and many nieces and nephews.  Son of the late John Wheeler Harding and Dorothy (Blaisdell) Harding, he was born and raised in Braintree, a graduate of Thayer Academy and Dartmouth College, and a World War II U.S. Army veteran who served as rifleman and medic in the 47th Infantry in the European Theater of Operations in 1944-1945 including the Ardennes campaign.  A long time employee of Callico Distributors of Taunton, he worked with his many friends and colleagues there until the age of 89.  Interment will be private at the Longmeadow Cemetery.

    My deepest condolences to the Harding family.It was a pleasure taking care of Mr.Harding as his VNA nurse a while ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

    Bill was the most wonderful, compassionate and caring person I have ever known. Every time I was with him, he lite up my life. Every time I was with him, he was present with acceptance and love.

    Kathy, I was so sorry to learn that your father had passed. I must have been about 6 or 7 years old when I first met your dad, so I have many memories. He was a delightful and kind man. My heart goes out to you and your family. You are in my prayers.
