I too am numb. I have been remanicing since I heard and my time with Dan as his gf was the the funnest and most innocent days of our pre-adult lives. I think of all my friends past and current and no matter what I did Dan would have a smile and make fun of me like we had not missed a day.
.. Dan and I shared a wonderful friendship you never would of imagined possible.. He had so much love in him (and although he could get me pissed & yelling as he danced like a champ with his shirt off to jump in a pool after a few beers in front of all)he also had a cool sensitive side to him. He was the my first love, my first best guy friend, my first other family. I could tell him anything even few years ago when we got to hang out!.. And the friendship we shared …poor thing got to see my bratty sister side as well and knew how to make fun of me.. It would always l help my racing mind. He was there with me as my endo symptoms began and well I feel I could keep going all my friends loved him and he will be missed . You don’t always get to find many friendships like we did. I’m going to stop there and I hope Dan knew how much he will always be a part of my heart. Patty and family I can’t say words that can help the ache but I wanted to be an adult and share how much you and Dan will always mean to me. It’s not fair I didn’t get to give him a goodbye hug.. I wish I was dreaming and could hear that brat laugh too..we were mega brats together.

    Julie

Ryan gives his condolences as well. He did not know Dan but he knows my special friendship I always will carry. I was 15 when I met Dan feels so long ago

I first met Dan when my daughter used to go swimming in his family’s pool. Right when I would pull up, Dan would always come out to greet us. He would say, ” Hey Jackie, hello Mr. McCarthy. She is in good hands here.” I would then leave knowing she was with nice people and in good hands.
Dan, always the gentleman and always welcomed into our home.
Nice, nice family. So sorry to see Dan leave us all.
