Barbara A. Woodward of Dedham formerly of West Roxbury, passed away peacefully at her home on February 25th,2016. She was 74 years old.  Barbara attended Dorchester High School (Class of 1959). She was a former employee of WGBH/Channel 2 in Brighton where she worked as a Broadcast Coordinator for many years. Barbara loved yard sales and gardening prior to her illness. She reminisced often about her visit to Hawaii. Barbara was an avid follower of politics and loved engaging in conversations about various current events.  Barbara had a creative spirit, which in her earlier years, she expressed through beautiful paintings,drawings and floral arranging. She loved to cook, bake and share her delicious recipes with friends and family.  She enjoyed watching various cooking shows and had composition books filled with recipes! Barbara is pre-deceased by her parents, Henry J. and Rita M.(Richards) Woodward, her brother Robert J. Woodward and her son-in-law Stanley (Buster) Smolak III.  Barbara is survived by her daughters, Christine M. Woodward and Elizabeth A (Woodward) Smolak,both of Dedham, Lisa Johnson of Columbus, GA and her brother Francis H. Woodward and his wife Kathleen of Walpole.  She is also survived by the loves of her life, her grandsons Stanley (Buster) Smolak IV and Stephen Smolak of Dedham as well as her grandchildren, Mya Johnson and Thomas Dasso.  Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her including her dear friends, Sharon M. Dirrane and her husband Michael of South Boston.  Services and internment will be held privately at a later date. Donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or a charity of your choice.
