Sally A. (Montcalm) Nordstrom, of Walpole, died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Maples Home in Wrentham after a long illness.  Beloved wife of the late LeRoy H. Nordstrom and devoted mother of Pamela Snell and her husband David of Plymouth, Judith Nordstrom of North Attleboro, Peter Nordstrom of Walpole and Eric Nordstrom and his wife Kathleen of Walpole.  Loving sister to Cranston Montcalm and his wife Loretta of Florida, the late Miriam Kraus of Oregon, Betty Jane Sanborn of Marstons Mills, Herbert Montcalm and his wife Mavis of Texas, Donald Montcalm of Florida, the late David Montcalm of Texas, Ronald Montcalm of Michigan, Corrine Maguire of West Yarmouth, the late Lloyd Montcalm and his wife Inez of Hyannis and Michael Hall of Connecticut.  She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, a great grandson and many nieces and nephews.  Sally grew up in Hyannis and attended the Household Nursing Association’s School of Attending Nursing in Boston where she earned her LPN.  She became a private duty nurse and later was a nurse at Norwood Hospital where many mothers remember her warmth, compassion and caring way in the Maternity Ward along with other patients she cared for on other floors.

In retirement, she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and volunteering at the First Congregational Church in Norwood.  She was known as an exceptional cook and baker and happily ran the pie making committee for the Church Fair.  In later life, she became the primary caretaker for her husband Roy.

Funeral services will be held at the First Congregational Church in Norwood on Wednesday, March 30th at 10am.  Visiting hours will be held at the Folsom May Funeral Home at 85 Nichols Street, Norwood on Tuesday, March 29th from 4-8pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support Parkinson’s research at the MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease (MIND), Mass General Hospital Development Office, Attn: Shawn Fitzgibbons, Suite 1310, 100 Cambridge Street , Boston, MA 02114.
