David William Scott passed away on July 9, 2016.  Born in Boston on June 19, 1978, he was the beloved son of Kenneth D. and the late Wilma (Winston) Scott.  David was a life long resident of Dedham.  He attended the Massachusetts Hospital School, Class of 1997, then he graduated from ITT Technical School in 2001 with high honors and earned his Associates Degree.  David was an employee of FM Global, specializing in loss prevention, as a CADD operator for 10 years.  He drove himself to work in a specially equipped van.  As an expert in Apple computers and graphic design, anyone who knew David would call him even before calling the Help Desk at Apple.  His hobbies were computer games, watching movies and going to concerts.  David’s favorite movie was “The Rock” and he especially enjoyed the Marvel comic movies.  He had many other favorites; in music it was the bands, Metallica and Disturbed and in comedy it was George Carlin.

David is also survived by his aunts; Donna Winston of Colorado, Debra Basson and Jane McGowan, both of Middleboro, Barbara McLaughlin of Taunton and his uncles; James Scott of Hampton, New Hampshire and Lawrence Scott of Dedham and many cousins. He will be sorely missed.

Visiting hours for David will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8PM at the Folsom Funeral Home at 87 Milton St. in Dedham.  Services and interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory may be made to the United Cerebral Palsy, 71 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.

Dear Kenny, I am so very sorry that David has lost his battle. He was a great kid, very bright. His light will continue to shine for you. May he be happier, and rest in peace. You wouldn’t want to watch him in pain any longer. He’s probably happy with his mom at this time. I hope as hard as this is you find a sense of peace for David and yourself. Love janice

Hi my name is Jack. Deepest condolences to David’s entire family. I was an MHS student from 1995. until 2003. David was always one of the people willing to take new students to places when they weren’t familiar with the campus yet. I was one of those people. Besides that he was always just great to talk to and hang out with in general. I’m sure that I am speaking for a lot of people when I say that he will be missed tremendously. David, R.I.P pal

David or Dave as I called him will be greatly missed. I went to the Massachusetts Hospital School with him, he was a great friend to me and always had a smile on his face and a great positive attitude no matter what. R.I.P. my dear friend.

    Kenny,
So sorry for your loss. When he was little David’s wish when he grew up was to be a “super hero” . . . Little did he realize that he always was a “super hero”. The times we spent together will always be a cherished memory. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Ken,

Dave faced challenges that few kids ever had to face but I doubt he dwelled on the obstacles but instead took every hurdle on like the Rock! That’s because he had you by his side every step of the way!
My arm is around your shoulder in spirit my friend!

    Mike

    Kenny,
Perfect picture of David, it shows a little bit of how he lived his life and the amazing strength he had! I am sure you are beyond proud of the young man David had become. May all of the great times the two of you shared together help comfort you in the days to come. You are an amazing dad! You are in my thoughts and prayers. R.I.P. David
