Wallin, John O.

John O. Wallin, a resident of Boston, passed away on January 31, 2017.  He was born on May 7, 1949 in Holdrege, Nebraska.  He lived most of his life in Boston and for several years in West Virginia.  He was the son of Kurt Wallin and is pre-deceased by his mother, Esther Wallin. He was very close to his aunt, Ruth Johnson.  He leaves his sister, Lois Manzi and brother-in-law, John.  He is also survived by several nephews,  a niece and a cousin.

John was always considered to be a “kind” and “polite” kind of guy.  He got along with all people and was well liked.  He had a love for music and played the piano since the age of six.  He attended Northeastern University for several years.

He struggled most of his life with emotional and physical ailments but still enjoyed the simple things.

A special thank you to Pastor Miriam Sedzro and the members of Resurrection Lutheran Church.  The exceptional staff at Hebrew Senior Life has made John’s residence there a comfortable and special time.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11AM at Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave., Boston, MA.  Any donations in his memory may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church, 19 Warren St., Roxbury, MA 02119.
