Kristensen, Karin Anna Liisa
Karin Anna Liisa (Korhonen) Kristensen, a resident of Plymouth for the past 35 years, and formerly of Norwood for almost 55 years, died Monday, June 29th, 2009 at St. Joseph Manor Nursing Home in Brockton after a long illness. She was 89. Karin was born March 21, 1920 in Norwood, Massachusetts, the only child of Toibo and Mimmi (Portinen) Korhonen. She graduated from Norwood High School and attended Mansfield Academy. Karin worked for 32 years as a self employed hairdresser. She was a member of the United Church in Norwood for over 50 years. She was the wife of the late Norman E. Kristensen, and is survived by her son Norman E., and his wife Lorraine Kristensen of Brockton. Visitation will be held Thursday from Noon to 1 PM at the May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols Street, Norwood followed by her funeral service at 1 o clock. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 would be appreciated.
