 D. Elaine (Fuller) Meridan, on December 22, 2017 of a broken heart , age 92. Westwood resident of 56 years and summer resident of Wings Neck, Pocasset.
Her beloved husband Stuart of 69 years, predeceased her by 17 days. Blessed mother of Paula Meridan of Westwood, Nancy Tashjian and husband Craig of Wellesley and Jeanne Hill and husband David of Medfield. Loving grandmother of Scott, Blake and Maria Tashjian and Joseph, Christopher, Geoffrey and David Hill II. Predeceased by her parents Marie (Taylor) Fuller of Great Harwood, England and Ernest D. Fuller (Fournier) of Danielson, CT and her brother Russell G. Fuller (Priscilla).of Easton, MA.
Born February 9,1925 in Boston and raised in Dedham she attended The New England Conservatory of Music (Boston) and Longy School (Cambridge) where she studied the accordion. Using her stage name ” Margo”, Elaine professionally played in cocktail lounges at The Equinox Hotel, The Lenox Hotel, The Sea Crest, The New London Inn and she was the first volunteer to play at The Veterans Hospital. A newspaper clipping summed it up like this, “beautiful Margo, the strolling accordionist is as lovely to look at as delightful to hear”.

After marrying Stuart in 1948 they built and operated Endicott Pharmacy in Dedham for 25 years. For business purposes Elaine suggested changing their name from Merdinyan to Meridan and asked the Endicott family to use their name for the drugstore. The slogan, “Your Partner in Health” came to Elaine in a dream and was printed on every prescription label. She was integral in the business, worked alongside her husband, did the books and delighted in purchasing and displaying the merchandise. After selling the business and raising 3 girls she began a real estate career. For over 20 years as a broker in Westwood and Dedham she was known for her integrity, honesty and received many prestigious performance awards.
For 50 years Elaine worshipped at St. John’s Episcopal Church (Westwood.) In later years, she worshipped with her husband at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church ( Dedham) and volunteered at the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Thrift Shop (Buzzards Bay.) She was famous for baking hundreds of Christmas cookies which were then shared with everyone..She was always cooking in the kitchen and delighted in antiquing, handwork, gardening, her daily walk and playing cards. Elaine loved spending time at Wings Neck with her family, friends and lifelong neighbors. “Her Stuart” and the grandchildren were the hallmarks of her life.
An elegant, gracious, polite lady she was known for her simple acts of kindness. Thankful for the care and dedication of Dr  Laurie Tarnell and Dr. Daniel Lee, The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, Mass Eye and Ear, Boston, Partners VNA and her caregivers. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 950 East Street, Dedham followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM on Thursday December 28. Morning refreshments will be served during visitation. Interment will be at The Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery,Baker St. West Roxbury. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to American Heart Association, National Center 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231 or Alzheimers Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave. 7th Floor, New NY, NY 10001.

    Elaine is now in heaven with her beloved Stuart. They were such a beautiful couple, a symbol of goodness and moral character.We are so sorry for this enormous loss.
