Mary Louise (Hasenfuss) Nickerson, a lifelong resident of Dedham, died Friday, February 9, 2018 at her home in Dedham surrounded by her loving family.  She was 84.  Mary was born July 7, 1933 in Dedham, Massachusetts, the youngest child of Peter D. and Mary M. (O’Malley) Hasenfuss.  She graduated from Dedham High School with the Class of 1951 and worked for many years as a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Company.  Mary was a member of the St. Mary’s Sodality at St. Mary’s Church in Dedham and was an avid card player.  She is survived by her husband Irving Lester “Nick” Nickerson; her two sons, Peter Nickerson of Sharon, and William Nickerson, and his wife Patty Foley, of Dedham; her two daughters, Mary Schroth, and her husband Peter, of Norton, and Claire Petersen, and her husband William, of Attleboro; her four grandchildren, Matthew Schroth, Erin Maco, Stacy Domurat, and Nicholas Petersen; and her three great grandchildren, Lily Maco, Henri Domurat, and Isabella Petersen.  Mary was predeceased by all her siblings, Paul, William, Claire, Robert, Peter, and Bernard Hasenfuss.    Visiting hours will be held Monday, February 12th from 4 to 8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home starting at 9 am on Tuesday and proceed to St. Mary’s Church, 420 High Street, Dedham for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o clock.  Interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.

    We are saddened to learn of Mary Lou’s death. She was a treasured member of our Class of 1951 at Dedham High School and will be missed at our gatherings. Our sincere sympathy to Nick and Mary Lou’s family.
