Baressi, Ida R.
Ida Raffaela (Giammasi) Baressi, a resident of Hyde Park, died Thursday, August 23, 2018 at her home in Hyde Park. She was 96. Ida was born June 27, 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts, the youngest of the six children of Antonio and Raffaela (Lombardi) Giammasi, immigrants from Italy. She graduated from Hyde Park High School and worked as a clerk for the John Hancock Insurance Company for many years. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Church in Readville and enjoyed dancing and sewing. Ida is survived by her husband of 66 years, Salvatore Philip Baressi, and her daughter Donna Baressi, also of Hyde Park. She was the sister of the late John, Angelo, and Fiore Giammasi, Nora Carini, and Elizabeth Lepro. Visiting hours will be held Monday August 27, 2018 from 5-8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home Tuesday starting at 9 am and proceed with us to St. Anne’s Church, 82 West Milton Street, Readville for Ida’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o clock. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.

Ida was my neighbor when I lived at 63 Sierra Road for 20 years. I used to love to watch her and Sal walk to their car and she was always wearing her high heels! RIP Ida.
