Edith Marian (Sias) Brousseau, a long time resident of Dedham, died Saturday, November 10, 2018 at her home in Dedham.  She was 91. Edith was born on December 20,1926  in Chelsea, Massachusetts, the daughter of Arthur and Carrie (Poole) Sias. Edith graduated from Dedham High School class of 1945, afterwards she graduated from Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing. She was retired from Brigham and Women’s Hospital having worked in the operating room and only decided not to renew her nursing registration at the age of 90. She also volunteered at the Flu Clinics for the town of Dedham.  Edith was married to Harold Brousseau on February 1,1952. She had two children and spent most of her retired years enjoying her grandchildren playing in concerts, cross country and track meets and baseball games in high school and college. Edith also had 4 great grandchildren of which she babysat and taught them how to bake and garden. Besides spending time with her family she was very active at Church of the Good Shepherd cooking suppers or serving dinners to children at Epiphany School with friends. She was also a member of Contentment Chapter Order of Eastern Star and very involved with Rainbow and DeMolay.  More importantly she was an accomplished seamstress and was always making smocked clothes for her grandchildren and great grandchildren . Her real love was hand embroidery along with machine embroidery. She was a member of Yankee Chapter Smocking Arts Guild of America.
She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Lambrecht and her husband Paul of Norwood and her son, Ronald A. Brousseau and his companion Mary Kavanaugh of Dedham along with her grandchildren; Allison Webster, Andrea Bremner and Daniel Lambrecht and great grandchildren; Claire, Isabelle, Cole and Jack. She was predeceased by her siblings, Benjamin Sias and Gertrude Cotter.  She loved her home and family and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 62 Cedar St., Dedham 02026.  Interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations in Edith’s memory may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd at the address listed above.
