Rose Marie (Palmerini) Ross, a longtime resident of Norwood, died Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Norwood Hospital. She was 96. Rose was born January 1, 1923 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Falcone) Palmerini. She grew up in Norwood and graduated from Norwood High School. Rose had a varied occupational history. She worked in a tannery located off Endicott Street in Norwood, as a sales associate at the W.T. Grant store in Norwood, and as a hairdresser in two different salons. Rose was a communicant at St. Catherine of Sienna Parish of Norwood where she also enjoyed playing bingo. Other hobbies included knitting, crocheting and reading. She also liked to frequent the Norwood Senior Center. Rose was the mother of Carol McCue of Bellingham; the grandmother of James R. McCue of Wrentham, and Steven P. McCue of Waltham; and the great grandmother of Isobel and Sam. She is also survived by two sisters, Josephine Palmerini of Norwood, and Mary Jones of Walpole. She was the sister of the late James and Orrigo Palmerini, Jennie Ippoliti, and Elizabeth Leggeri. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 5 to 7 pm at the Folsom & May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols Street, Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home, Wednesday morning starting at 10 am and proceed with us to St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 549 Washington Street, Norwood for her funeral mass at 11 o clock. Interment will follow in Highlands Cemetery in Norwood. Donations to the Norwood Senior Center, 275 Prospect Street, Norwood, MA 02062 would be appreciated.
