Kapetanakis, Charles

Charles Kapetanakis, a lifelong resident of Dedham, died Friday, November 1, 2019 at the Norwood Hospital in Norwood after a long illness.  He was 68.  Charles was born November 25, 1950, a son of George and Kleanthy (Davis) Kapetanakis.  He graduated with the Class of 1968 from Dedham High School where he played on the football team during his junior and senior years.  He was a member of Boy Scouts Troop 3 in Dedham, the oldest continuously operated Boy Scout troop in American, and had a lifelong interest in the affairs of the troop. Charles attended the Northeastern University School of Criminal Justice for three years.  He held a deep interest in worldwide current events and never missed an opportunity to encourage his fellow Americans to vote; a right and privilege he held dear. 

Visiting hours will be held Monday, November 4th from 5 to 7 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday at 11:30 am at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 39 Belgrade Ave, Roslindale followed by interment in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.  Donations to St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 39 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale, MA 02131 would be appreciated.

    Charlie could out-talk anyone, on many subjects. You could tell He was well-read and interested in many subjects. He was generous and considerate.He will be missed!
