Kavanagh, Ann

Ann F. Kavanagh, a long time resident of Dedham passed away on November 16, 2019. Born in New York City, New York, she was the daughter of the late James “Barney” and Catherine P. (Goonan) Kavanagh. Ann was a graduate from Ursuline Academy, Class of 1966 and attended Boston University and U Mass Boston where she earned her BA in Elementary Education. She worked as a bookkeeper at the former Boston-Needham Industrial Cleaning Company and former Irish Ale House. Ann loved music, liked to travel and was an avid reader. Family was her greatest joy. She will be sorely missed. Ann is survived by her siblings Bernie Kavanagh, Ellen Clinton and her husband Thomas and Mary Kavanagh and her companion Ronald Brousseau, all of Dedham and the late John Kavanagh. She was the loving aunt of Ursula A. Kavanagh-Drasher, Jason Kavanagh, Michael Cllinton and Brian Clinton and great aunt of 12. She is also survived by many cousins here and Abroad. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 9 AM at St. Susanna’s Church, 262 Needham St., Dedham. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Susanna’s Peace & Justice Committee, at address listed above or to the Dedham Youth Commission, c/o Dedham Town Hall, 26 Bryant St., Dedham, MA 02026

    I am so sorry for your loss, Ann was beautiful inside and out. I have fond memories of my younger day just hanging out and talking with her, she always had a calming effect on everyone, I’m sure she will be sorely missed.
