Russell, Louise H.

Louise Harding Russell, a resident of Woodstock, Vermont, died Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Needham.  She was 74.  Louise was born September 18, 1945 in Lake Forest, Illinois, the daughter of Henry Edwards and Louise (Harding) Russell.  She was an administrator at Children’s Hospital in Boston.  Louise is survived by her brother, William E. Russell of Hanahan, South Carolina, and her sister-in-law Diane Russell of Chestnut Hill, MA.  Services were private.

    Thank you Louise. Your decency improved so many lives here.

    The name Louise is rooted in “watchful/ warrior”. Fiercely you fought for those that could not. You voiced what the voiceless could not. You did what needed to be done. You understood that integrity is a verb. I don’t know if you made visible all that you did for the invisible. You made a difference in how you defeated indifference. You measured what mattered. I knew you only later in your life and you never failed to out-wit and out-will what might undermine the underdog. More than anything else you were you… and in being so… you healed the hurting lives of others. Such sublime success sanctifies the world. Thank you Louise.
