Watt, Mary

Mary Duncan Robertson Watt, a resident of Norwood, passed away on April 2, 2021 at the age of 98. Born June 5, 1922 in Dunfermline, Scotland, she traveled to the United States as a child with her parents, John and Mary (Duncan) Robertson and her sisters, Joanne and Peggy. She met her husband Ron at a dance in Boston where his ship was stationed for Her Majesty the Queen’s Royal Navy. They were married April 26, 1945. They traveled the world, Hong Kong where their son Stephen was born. She then settled in Glasgow Scotland until Ron finished his service for the Queen. They made their voyage to Massachusetts on board the ship and settled in Dedham and then Norwood where they had William, Sharon and Ian. She was a Registered nurse and worked at UPS and Norwood Nursing and Retirement Home. She enjoyed many dances and outings with family and friends. Trips to the Cape and Plymouth, the Scottish games in the summer and pipers in the parade! Whenever she heard the pipers she would sigh and say she missed her bonney Scotland home. She loved seeing Kate sing with her choir and Billy playing Lacrosse. Ryan and Heather loved to visit (MiMi) at home and sit on her lap. She was very proud of her children and was loved by everyone she met. She will be sorely missed by all. Mary is survived by her children William and his wife Marie, Ian Watt and Sharon Watt, all of Norwood. She was the devoted grandmother to Katelyn, William, Jr., Ryan and Heather and great grandmother to Kaleb. She was predeceased by her husband Ron Watt, her son Stephen and her sisters, Joanne Forrester and Peggy Wright. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM at the May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols St., Norwood. Mrs. Watt’s funeral service and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to SNARC, (So. Norfolk Arc) 789 Clapboardtree St., Westwood, MA 02090

Mary, known as Bunty was a very friendly and family oriented lady.
she always had a smile for everyone. Bunty attended many family events at her Son, Bill’s home. Marie and Bill would have Bunty live in their home where I helped them with her care. She would greet me with a smile and her loving way. Bunty never had a harsh word about anyone. She loved her Family and would talk lovingly about them. Bunt will be missed. Rest in Peace in the arms of Our Lord.
