Murphy, Leo K.
Leo kevin Murphy, a longtime resident of Dedham, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the West Roxbury Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Boston. Leo was born May 3, 1936 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of William Thomas and Josephine Elizabeth (McNulty) Murphy. He served from 1953 to 1954 in the Marine Corps as a Private in Company A of the 2nd Infantry Battalion and then transferred to the US Airforce where he served at Keesler Airforce Base in Mississippi until his honorable discharge in 1957. Leo attended college for three year before becoming an electronics engineer in the Aviation Electronics field. He was the former husband of the late Beverly Ann (Witt) Murphy and the late Regina A. (McIver) Beard Lasser. Leo was the father of the late Kevin W. Murphy and is survived by three sons, Shawn Murphy, and his wife Jackie, of New Hampshire, James Murphy, and his wife Debbie, of California, and Leo K. Murphy Jr. He is also survived by his sister, Helene Mader, and her husband Lloyd, of Lynnfield. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, 420 High Street, Dedham followed by interment with military honors at the National Cemetery at Bourne at 1:15 pm.
