We are pleased to announce some of the projects we have recently completed.

We are thrilled to be able to celebrate the Folsom & May Funeral Home’s 100th year of service in our community by finishing a complete overhaul of the entire facility, inside and out. We recently replaced the rear entry stairway with a new covered steps and handicapped ramp. Our front stairway was replaced with brick and granite stairs.  We updated our parking lot with new paving that increased our driveway width, allowing for much easier entry and exiting and increased the amount of parking available.  We also  increased our exterior parking lot lights and exterior accent lighting around the building.  A beautiful new sign and lighting was installed in the front yard this spring that reads “Folsom & May Funeral Home” and closely resembles our signage at our other locations.  Major interior structural renovations began in October 2022 and included an addition to our main chapel area and removal of many interior walls, creating a welcoming open facility that can accommodate much larger gatherings that before.   We also added two new handicapped family bathrooms, all new lighting, HVAC, audio system throughout the building, TV’s for tribute slideshows, and all new interior decorations throughout the building. The end result is a warm, welcoming, modern facility capable of meeting our family’s needs and expectations.

Our Westwood office has undergone a complete exterior make-over.  We have planted new rhodedendron bushes at the back of our lot and a new crabapple tree with accompanying holly bushes near the back of the building.  They partially block the view of our new air conditioning units.  A new irrigation systems is helping to keep the front lawn and plantings alive and healthy. We have replaced the stone wall along the driveway and installed a new stone wall further up the driveway to create terraces with accompanying landscaping. We have also replaced the plain solid metal flower room door with a glass paneled entry door.  Finally, we have redecorated the interior of the Westwood Chapel with new carpeting, paint, chair-rails, and improved lighting.

Our Dedham office saw improvements to our parking lot. Repairs were made to our pavement and drainage.  A new all granite staircase was added to the entrance off of our parking lot into the flower room. We were very happy to increase the comfort level of our families with the complete replacement of our old air conditioning system.  Our new system is sure to keep everyone cool at the largest gatherings on the hottest days of summer.

A new sign for our Dedham Funeral Home has been installed. The carved composite sign is black and grey with gold lettering and is mounted on granite post with wrought iron hangers.  It matches the entrance and exit signs located by each driveway.  We were forced to remove the maple tree that graced our front circle for the past 20 years.  It was diseased, and could not be saved.   We wish to thank Sign Language of Norwood for the design, construction, and installation of the signage in both our Westwood and Dedham locations.

We are pleased at the acceptance of the recently added “merchandise” section to our website.  The section has pictures and prices of all the caskets, vaults, urns, and printed products that we offer.  By clicking on a thumbnail picture of each item you are able to call up a full page picture.
