Adriana “Cessi” Baglione (Biagioni) of Norwood died peacefully at home, surrounded by family on January 28, 2026, at the age of 100. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent Baglione, in 2002. Born in Barga Italy in 1925, she came of age during World War II and was wounded amid its turmoil. She spent four months in an American military field hospital after doctors removed shrapnel from her side. Those early trials forged a woman of remarkable strength, perseverance, and compassion. In time, she immigrated to the United States, where she worked in the garment industry, building a new life through her unwavering work ethic. She married Vincent in 1952 and settled in Norwood, Massachusetts where she lovingly raised five children and numerous beloved pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and chickens. Her work in Boston's garment industry allowed her to develop into a gifted seamstress and designer of couture suits and dresses. No sewing challenge was too large for Cessi, and using her gifted skill, she built a successful side business with a devoted clientele. Her cooking was an expression of her Italian heritage, and her meals became a source of comfort and joy for all who gathered at her table. She was also an avid gardener and had a “green thumb," cultivating a garden plot at the Norwood Community Gardens for several years - unrivalled by all. She was an enthusiastic bingo player who found real joy in the game – not just in winning, but in the laughter, friendships, and sense of community it brought. Bingo nights were among her favorite moments, and her sharp eye could play up to 20 cards; her lucky instincts, and unmistakable smile was always on display. For Cessi, bingo was never just a game; it was time well spent with people she loved. She made friends wherever she went and treated everyone with love, kindness, and respect. She was the beloved mother of Linda, Frank, Elaine, Nancy, and Anita, and a devoted mother figure to Elaine’s friends, Deb and Connie for 60 years. She leaves behind eight treasured grandchildren: Sarah, Susan, Paul, Alexa, Emily, Danny, Marissa, and Kera, who will always remember her love, guidance, and Pastina! She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and will forever remember her as the coolest Aunt of all! She lived life to the fullest and shared her love, laughter, and spirit with everyone around her. She will be forever cherished. It was good. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial Friday, February 13, 2026 at 10:30 am at St. Timothy's Church, 650 Nichols Street, Norwood. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to VNA Care, Fund Development, 100 Trade Center, Suite G-500, Woburn, MA 01801-1872 would be appreciated. |
