Ann M. Van Stry (Savage) of Norton, formerly of Westwood, passed away peacefully at Alliance Health at Maples in Wrentham on August 8, 2026. Ann was born on December 29, 1934 in Boston, MA to James and Hanora Savage. She grew up in Jamaica Plain, graduated from Girls Latin School and continued her education at Boston Clerical School. On May 17, 1958 she married Robert Van Stry and together they built a life in Westwood and raised three daughters. Ann then returned to work as the Administrative Assistant to the District School Committee at Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton where she enjoyed working for many years before her retirement. To Ann, family was everything. She loved to prepare Sunday dinners with all 14 family members around the table, always making it seem effortless. She also loved to shop. She and her sister, Marie, could usually be found at Macy’s on any given Monday searching for a bargain. Ann never missed an event that involved the grandchildren. Whether it was graduations, school concerts, sporting events, or dance recitals, she and Papa would be there to support them. The grandchildren will never forget Nana’s gentle, loving manner and her devotion to them. Ann is survived by her daughters, Karen M. Viles and her husband Paul, of North Attleboro, Kathleen A. Gaughan and her husband Paul, of Attleboro, and Kerri L. Haselton and her husband Bruce, of North Attleboro. She was the proud grandmother of Kathryn, Emily, Caroline, Kristina, Kiley, and Connor and great grandmother of Annie, Cora, and Greta. Dear sister of James Savage and his wife Sherry of Alameda, CA. Beloved auntie to Susan Mansfield of Medway and to many other loving nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert, and her sister Marie Croke. Visiting hours will be held Friday, August 14th, 2026 from 5 to 7 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home Saturday, August 15th starting at 9 am and proceed with us to her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High Street, Westwood at 10 'o clock. Interment will follow in New Westwood Cemetery.
