Charles “Bud” L. O’Connell, a resident of Norwood, died at his home on September 30, 2011. He was 83. Born in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Charles L. O’Connell, Sr. and Margaret (Quinlan). Bud, as he was fondly known, was a veteran in the United States Navy, Seaman 2nd Class during World War II. He was an electrician and retired member of the IBEW, Local 103. He was also member of the Royal Order of the Elks in Norwood, and the American Legion, Fogg Post in Hyde Park. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, a good game of pool and horseshoes. He thoroughly enjoyed his family and friends. He was the beloved husband of 60 years of Marilyn (Carpenito). He is also survived by his children, Charles L., III of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Walter of Norton, John of Walpole and Kathleen Duboise of Norwood. He was the brother of Lorraine O’Connell of Roslindale and the grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of 3 . A private memorial service was held on October 3, 2011 at the May Funeral Home in Norwood. Interment was private.
