David Ernest Stoddard

David Ernest Stoddard passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026 in Franklin, MA. He was 68 years old. Dave was born on February 23, 1958 to James F. Stoddard and Virginia M. (Dolan) Stoddard. Dave grew up in Westwood, MA with his two brothers. 

He graduated from Westwood High School in 1976 and enlisted in the U.S Navy where he served as a navigation technician aboard the USS Daniel Webster. 

Dave had many hobbies and interests throughout his life; he loved filling his time studying many subjects including mathematics, physics and geography which were among his favorites. Dave had a passion for playing cards and was a dedicated Red Sox and Patriots fan. He also enjoyed coffee, especially when accompanied by a sweet treat. 

Dave is predeceased by his parents, James Frederick Stoddard and Virginia Marie (Dolan) Stoddard, as well as his brother, James Frederick Stoddard, Jr.. Dave is survived by his brother Christopher Paul Stoddard and wife Christine Ann Pino of Franklin, MA; and his nieces, Olivia Pino Stoddard and Angelina Pino Stoddard and husband Curtis Wickline. 

Visitation for all will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 5 - 8 pm at Folsom Funeral Home (649 High Street, Westwood, MA 02090). Family and friends are invited to attend services on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the funeral home at 9 am and proceed to Saint Margaret Mary's Church (845 High Street, Westwood, MA 02090), for the funeral service starting at 10 am, followed by burial at Saint Joseph Cemetery (990 Lagrange St, Boston, MA 02132). Donations to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital, (stjude.org/ or 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105) are welcome.
